Nizam Hashmi

Nizam Hashmi is the founder and principal lawyer of Hashmi Law Group, a Barrister and Solicitor licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. He began his legal career articling at a law firm in 2009 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2010. Since then he has represented clients in hundreds of family and civil litigation matters throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including North York, Mississauga and the surrounding communities.

Mr. Hashmi’s legal training spans three jurisdictions. He earned an LL.B (Hons) and LL.M from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, followed by a further LL.B (Hons) from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom. He completed his Bar-at-Law at the Inns of Court School of Law and was called to the Bar as a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, U.K. After moving to Canada, he completed required licensing courses and examinations before being called to the Ontario Bar.

Since being called to the Bar, Mr. Hashmi has built a practice centred on family law and civil litigation, appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. His experience includes conducting trials, motions and appeals, as well as resolving many matters through negotiated settlement outside of court. He acts as sole or lead counsel on his files, working directly with clients from initial consultation through resolution.
